Rizzieri Salon and Spa of Marlton was recently featured in SJ Magazine’s article Welcome Changes. Where they provided makeovers to deserving women.
They worked with Eliza Babcock: the Barrington resident gave birth to her first child and celebrated her 30th birthday. She’s also juggling the demands of motherhood with her busy real estate career.
During her transformation they had some great tips that any woman could apply to help update her looks. Here are some great spring tips from our pros.
“You should always choose a hair color that reflects your lifestyle and ability to maintain it. Blondes are high-maintenance colors that require more commitment, while brunettes require less. If you’re coloring to cover up grays, you should have a touch-up every three to five weeks. Many women think they can go longer, but often the gray has already started showing.”
– Sharon Crowell
“Trends will always come and go, so your hairstyle should always be about what looks best for you regardless of trends. And, longer hair should be trimmed, at maximum, every eight weeks because the style basically disappears after that. Shorter hair requires more maintenance with frequent trimmings, but is usually easy to style on a day-to-day basis. It’s a trade-off.”
– Tom DeGrandis
“Good makeup starts with a good skin care routine. You should always properly cleanse your skin – cleansers with a mild glycolic acid are great time savers because they cleanse and naturally exfoliate at the same time. The other important part of a good skin care routine is to always use a good moisturizer with a sunscreen before you apply any makeup.”
– Maria Quintas

The benefits of tea are limitless, there is scientific studies that prove that there are many health benefits of tea for your body. Here are just a few.
Cardiovascular Health
Some of the benefits to heart health that have been suggested by early studies include lowering LDL cholesterol1 and improving the ability of blood vessel lining to expand when blood flow increases2. Some believe that tea might also help lower blood pressure.
Immune system
Antioxidants may help to protect Immune System 3 the L-theanine, an amino acid present in tea, may “prime” the immune system to help it fight infection, bacteria, viruses, and fungi.4 In addition, tea is rich in vitamins and minerals including B1, B2, B6, C, folic acid, magnesium, potassium, and zinc.
Cognition
Tea’s amino acids may also help you gain a calmer, but more alert, mental state. The effect can last for 3 – 4 hours.5
Cancer
Early research suggests that some components of tea might help to reduce cancer risk. This is one of the most active areas of research currently.
Oral Health
Tea contains a natural fluoride, encouraging healthy tooth enamel,6 and the flavonoids in tea may slow the formation of plaque by bacteria in the mouth.7
Weight Loss
Tea has no calories and helps to hydrate the body. Substituting unsweetened tea for sugary drinks like soda can be a useful tool in maintaining a healthy weight. It is also thought that tea can help to boost metabolism.4 One should not, however, believe claims that “Wulong” tea is “weight-loss tea.” “Wulong” is simply another word for “oolong” and it has not shown any more, or less, impact on weight loss.
Bone Health
A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that older women who were tea drinkers had higher bone mineral density (BMD) than non-tea drinkers.8
