Men, Update Your Look at Franco’s Barbering

09.30.2021

Barbering is a skill all to itself. It takes unique training and specialties that are different from those found in a ‘regular’ hair salon. At Franco’s Barbering, we understand the needs of men and stay up to date on the current trends and techniques for giving our clients the look they want. Fall is a time for a change, and if you’re in need of a new hairstyle, a beard shaping, or just a good straight razor shave, we can help!

Our barbers have put together some of the latest men’s hairstyles we’re seeing this season to help inspire you.

Best Short Hairstyles

French Crop. This low-maintenance hairstyle features a short length, a fade on the sides, and some fringe on top. This highly adaptable cut stays out of the way all day while delivering texture and a just slightly messy look that women love.

Crew Cut. One thing we’re seeing this year is a return to the classics but with a modern twist. The new crew cut isn’t your normal all-over short cut. Today, the updated crew cut comes with subtly faded sides and a bit of length on top, giving it some more personality and options for customization.

Undercut. Want an easy, versatile cut as the weather cools? With the undercut, you can choose short, long, or somewhere in between. What sets this style apart is the length between the sides and top. Our expert barbers can help you determine the perfect length that’s right for your style.

Fades Galore. Most hairstyles you’ve seen for 2021 entail some type of fade on the sides and back. From a short crew cut to a pompadour on top, the faded look on the sides is here to stay. Depending on the length of your hair and the look you want, your Franco’s barber can help you determine if a low fade, a mid-fade, or a high fade is right for you.

The Caesar Cut. Haircuts are cyclical, and we see most of them come back into fashion at some point. This cut was popular in 1999 and has made a comeback for 2021. Ultimately, it’s a mix between a fringe and a fade. Styling is easy and you can take it from casual to formal in the blink of an eye – and with some good quality hair products. This low-maintenance cut is good for letting your hair grow out if you choose with little upkeep and no ‘awkward’ stage.

Best Medium & Longs Hairstyles

Quiff. This one is still right on top of the list for fall and winter. Known as the lazy man’s pompadour, there’s a version that flatters every man’s face shape. With the length natural and sides faded, most of the work goes into the top of the hair, where you can determine just how much time you want to spend on it each morning.

Curtains. Remember the bowl cut of the 90s? Don’t let that scare you away from this modern version. It’s basically an undercut with more length on top and less volume throughout. This modern take avoids hard edges, keeping the look neat and textured. You can keep it loose and playful or use hair products to style it back for the office or a special occasion.

The Fringe. The fringe is everywhere this season and has so many variations, it’s hard to keep track of them all. The length can be short to medium, with a single uniform length or irregular lengths with textural dimensions throughout the cut. Either way, we aren’t seeing the fringe going away anytime soon.

The Indie Rock. If Covid and our lockdown gifted you with longer hair, maybe it’s time to embrace your mid-length hair! Many men, being able to work from home, have let their hair grow and are now enjoying the freedom of longer hair. Your Franco’s barber can trim and clean up the edges, add long layers, and razor-cut the ends so that it’s easy to manage but gives you the choice to let it flow for weekends and evenings while allowing you to easily smooth it back for work. It’s the perfect blend between modern and the rocker-grunge vibe.
